A heated wrap does two separate things at once, and most products in this category only do one of them.
The heating element sits against the joint and warms the tissue around it. The motor underneath it adds a low vibration you can feel through the padding. Because both run from the same battery in the same wrap, you get them together rather than swapping between a heat pad and a handheld massager.
The velcro closure is what makes it usable. It holds the wrap against the joint without you holding it, so the fifteen minutes happen while you are doing something else — reading, working, watching something — rather than sitting still holding a device against your leg.
